Abstract:
This code covers the proper design and construction of buildings of reinforced concrete. It is written in such a form that it may be incorporated verbatim or adopted by reference in a general building code, and earlier editions of it have been widely used in this manner. Among the subjects covered are: Quality of concrete; allowable stresses; mixing; placing, curing, and cold weather protection of concrete; forms; cleaning, bending, placing, splicing and protection of reinforcement; construction joints;general design considerations; flexural computations; shear and diagonal tension; bond and anchorage; flat slabs; columns and walls; and footings. The quality and testing of the materials used in the construction are covered by reference to the appropriate A.S.T.M. standard specification.
