Students from across the globe assembled for the ACI Student Forum held Monday, October 15, 2018 during The Concrete Convention and Exposition in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Presentations topics included explanations on the use of additive construction applications such as 3D printing, fly ash, and eco-friendly concrete mixtures. Several presenters highlighted their participation in regional concrete competitions sponsored by ACI Local Chapters. The role that ACI Local Chapters play in the professional and academic development of students is featured in this month’s Chapter edition of Concrete International Magazine in the article titled, “The Value of Student Competitions.” Students who participate in regional competitions get to expand their general concrete knowledge while also directly interacting with local concrete professionals.
