Michael Morrison, FACI, FASTM, serves as Manager, Certification Program Development, for ACI. He leads the research and development of potential new certification programs. He works closely with the ACI Certification team and the local Sponsoring Groups in the development, review, training, delivery, and promotion of these programs to market. Morrison has 40 years of experience in the concrete industry with 28 years focused in project management related to construction materials testing and evaluation, field inspection, condition surveys and development, and execution of training programs within the construction industry. He is highly skilled at teaching and training as related to ACI Certification programs and seminars. Active with the ACI Illinois Chapter for 25+ years and a Past President of the chapter, he was the lead examiner for that chapter’s certification program from 2004 through 2010.
Tim King serves as Manager, Southern California Resource Center, for ACI. Possessing over a decade of experience in the construction industry, he started his career as an Engineering Technician in the United States Air Force, RED HORSE Division. King helped develop and instruct a pre-deployment construction materials training course to familiarize Airmen with concrete, aggregate, and asphalt testing. Prior to joining ACI, he was the Quality Control and Laboratory Manager for one of the largest independent producers of aggregate, ready-mix concrete, and hot-mix asphalt in the United States. He received his AAS in construction technology from the Community College of the Air Force, Montgomery, AL. He holds multiple industry certifications from ACI.

Victoria Lopez serves as Program Assistant, Southern California Resource Center, for ACI. She received her bachelor’s degree from California State University, Chico, Chico, CA. With over 5 years of experience in the construction industry, she has spent extensive time in the field as a Quality Control Technician where she verified plastic properties of concrete, cast test specimens, and ultimately became a primary trainer for new concrete field technicians. Prior to joining ACI, she was a Technical Services Specialist where she reviewed project specifications and led trial batches on concrete mixture designs for a large regional Ready-Mix operation in Southern, CA. Lopez is bilingual—fluent in English and Spanish. She holds multiple industry certifications from ACI.

Emily J. Boirum serves as Manager, Midwest Resource Center, for ACI. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. With over 25 years in the construction industry, Boirum’s experience and breadth of knowledge spans the laboratory side of the business to in-field special inspection of heavy civil projects. She started her career working in laboratory quality control leading standard and behavioral testing of aggregates, asphalt, and concrete as well as performing primary and secondary geotechnical soils testing. She has attained over a dozen industry certifications across multiple disciplines, from ACI, the International Code Council (ICC), the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), CISEC, and the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA).

Andrea Godoy serves as Program Assistant, Midwest Resource Center, for ACI. She received her bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of the Andes (ULA), Mérida, Venezuela. Upon graduation, she worked as a Construction Estimator and as a Project Manager in Venezuela. After arriving in the United States, she specialized in Nondestructive Testing Procedures and related equipment for over 5 years. In this role, Godoy was involved in sales, technical support, and customer training as well as assisting with nondestructive testing (NDT) workshops that were held both domestically and internationally.
Ken Coffey serves as Manager, Mid-Atlantic Resource Center, for ACI. He received his Bachelor of Arts from McDaniel College, Westminster, MD, in environmental policy. With 10+ years of experience in concrete construction, he recently worked for a major engineering and testing firm as a lead concrete inspector and ultimately became Director of laboratory operations. Prior to joining ACI, Coffey was an inspector with ASTM International’s Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL) and performed audits and inspections of construction materials testing laboratories and cement plants across North America. In addition to experience in laboratory inspection and running a materials testing laboratory, Coffey also worked for a major construction company as an assistant project manager, further broadening his horizons in the construction industry before joining ACI in the fall of 2022. He has numerous certifications across many disciplines in the construction industry.

Eric Gaarenstroom serves as Program Assistant, Mid-Atlantic Resource Center, for ACI. He received his Bachelor of Arts in environmental geoscience from West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV. Prior to joining ACI he was a Project Manager for a private engineering and testing firm where he was involved in all aspects of testing and inspecting structural concrete masonry unit (CMU) construction, high-rise buildings with post-tensioned slabs, and airfield concrete paving. Gaarenstroom gained extensive field-related and training experience from managing his team of technicians and holds certifications across many disciplines in the construction industry.

Sarah Mauri serves as Technical Writer, Certification Department, for ACI. Previously, she was Manager, Southern California Resource Center, for ACI. She received her Bachelor of Science in physics from Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA. Prior to joining ACI, she was an inspector with ASTM International’s Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL) and performed audits and inspections of construction materials testing laboratories and cement plants across North America. Mauri also held a position as an engineer at a major engineering firm in Southern California. She holds numerous industry certifications from ACI and has extensive knowledge in the areas of concrete, aggregate, cement, and masonry testing and training.
