Technical Questions

ACI Committees, Membership, and Staff have answered common questions on a variety of concrete related topics.

Is there any measure of the completeness or adequacy of curing?

Q. Is there any measure of the completeness or adequacy of curing?

A. No. The adequacy can be judged with reference to in-place strength or some other measurable property. Inadequate early curing frequently causes plastic shrinkage cracking, which results in a weak and badly cracked surface (ACI 308R).
