Q. Is pulse velocity related to strength? A. Pulse velocity increases with an increase in the modulus of elasticity of the concrete, as does compressive strength. Hence, it may be used to estimate strength, provided the pulse velocity versus strength relationship has been established for the particular concrete in question. References: SP-1(02); ACI 228.2R-13; ACI 437R-19; ASTM C597; ASTM C1383 Topics in Concrete: Nondestructive Testing; Testing of Concrete
