Innovative materials and technologies related to Carbon-Conscious Concrete are playing a pivotal role in the transition to a low-carbon construction industry. Our objective is to spearhead the transformation of the concrete sector by integrating cutting-edge advancements that significantly reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainability. We seek to inspire and empower industry leaders, expedite the adoption of eco-friendly practices, and establish new benchmarks for a sustainable built environment. This symposium will serve as a premier platform for the exchange of ideas and collaboration between academic researchers and industry experts. It will focus on novel low CO₂ binders and the latest technologies for minimizing CO₂ emissions during cement production and concrete manufacturing. During this event, we will also celebrate ACI honorary member Prof. Surendra P. Shah’s 90-year birthday! Prof. Shah’s contribution over the last 60 years have been paramount to advancing the state of art in concrete technology. This symposium will recognize and celebrate the extraordinary contributions of Prof. Shah in the field of concrete worldwide. The symposium will be taking place in Chicago, IL, USA, during October 2-5, 2025.
