Construction Special Issue Call for Abstracts for ACI Structural Journal

We are pleased to announce a call for papers for a special issue of the ACI Structural Journal on Construction Special Topics. This special issue will focus on the latest advancements and research in the construction industry, with an emphasis on topics that are vital to the evolution of concrete construction.

The special issue is part of a trial designed to gauge interest in the creation of an ACI Construction Journal, which would complement the ACI Structural and ACI Materials Journals. ACI’s Construction Liaison Committee set the goal of providing a platform dedicated to the challenges, innovations, and research within the construction sector. On behalf of the committee, we invite you to contribute to this Construction Special Issue.

The committee is looking for high-quality manuscripts that address a wide range of concrete construction-related topics, including but not limited to:

Construction management and operations
Sustainability through construction techniques
Advances in construction safety
Innovations in construction means and methods
Performance-based construction methods
Workforce improvement
Quality assurance and quality control
Alternative project delivery impacts on concrete construction
Industry trends and future directions in construction

The intent is to provide a forum for publishing construction-related research that does not fit within the scope of the ACI Materials or ACI Structural Journals. Manuscripts must clearly identify the benefits to the concrete construction industry, even if the overarching thrust of the research is for the greater construction industry.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
Please submit your abstracts to Tony Lamanna at drtony@asu.edu. Submissions should include: Manuscript Title, Abstracts (max of 150 words), and Significance to the Concrete Industry (max 150 words).

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: April 30, 2025

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: (If invited): June 30, 2025

This special edition of the ACI Construction Journal will be open access, with article processing charges covered by ACI. The CLC will serve as an advisory board, selecting award-winning manuscripts and identifying those for potential conversion into CI articles.
