Highlights include: Evaluation of Concrete Structures Solutions to Common Problems with Pervious Concrete UHPC-Revolutionary Innovation through Fiber Reinforcement High-Strength Concrete: It is Not Just for Tall Buildings Do We Understand the Workability of Concrete as Much as We Think? Troubleshooting Self-Consolidating Concrete Reduction of Crack Width with Fiber Concrete Sustainability Forum 9 The International Forum takes place on Sunday, October 23, 2016, providing an opportunity for convention attendees to meet and learn from ACI international partners, ACI chapter representatives, and ACI leadership about worldwide events, activities, initiatives, and common themes of interest to the concrete materials, design, and construction industry. Following the forum, special guest speaker Andreas Tselebidis will give a lunch presentation titled, "Engineering the Impossible-Sustainable Concrete Solutions for Day to Day Applications to Supertall and Slender Skyscrapers." On Tuesday, October 25, 2016, there will be a special three-part session titled Joint ACI-fib International Symposium on Punching Shear of Structural Concrete Slabs - Honoring Neil Hawkins. This session will honor Dr. Neil Hawkins, Professor Emeritus, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, whose contributions in the field of structural concrete slab punching design have been paramount. Together with the other scheduled convention events including committee meetings, the Student Mortar Workability Competition, and numerous networking events including the Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards, and the Concrete Mixer, attendees will have many choices.
