The right people, at the right place, at the right time – ACI Chapter Activities hosted its 2nd Annual Chapter Leader Networking Event during the World of Concrete in Las Vegas, Nev., on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Gordon Biersch. This year’s Networking Event had over 60 leaders representing 15 chapters and societies in the industry. Leaders connected with chapters and societies from Arizona, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Kansas, Las Vegas, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, National Capital, New Mexico, San Diego, Guatemala, and the Concrete Society of South Africa. All the participants enjoyed sharing best practices that have improved the functionality of their chapter. Special guests in attendance this year included ACI President Michael Schneider, who expressed his excitement for the increasing networking opportunities that are being provided by ACI. ACI Vice President Khaled Awad, ACI Past President Ken Hover, and ACI Executive Vice President Ron Burg interacted with the invitees as well. “This was another successful networking event,” said John Conn, Director of Chapter Activities. “ACI is actively working to strengthen relationships between ACI and its chapter members by offering educational resources and social events to support the growth of local chapters. We look forward to each leader attending the upcoming Leadership Training Event May 22 – 23, 2017, at the ACI Headquarters,” he added. In addition to the Leadership Training Event, the American Concrete Institute provides Chapter Technical Talks, presented by ACI’s Engineering staff, and the Chapter Roundtables in the Fall, held in conjunction with The ACI Concrete Convention and Exposition.
