ACI is pleased to announce that Frances Griffith, FACI, Chair of ACI Educational Activities Committee, has been named as one of 2018’s Most Influential People in the Concrete Industry by Concrete Construction magazine. Frances Griffith Griffith, Associate Director for the Center for Training Transportation Professionals at the University of Arkansas, has been instrumental in leading change in ACI’s educational programs. The process of change started in 2014, and has involved many hours of volunteer service by Griffith and the entire ACI Educational Activities Committee. A member on many ACI Committees, and the ACI Board of Direction, Griffith led the change from seminars and hard copies to online learning through ACI University, all available on a newly created app. ACI University was launched at World of Concrete in 2015, and the app was recently updated to include access to all free ACI web sessions, integrated links to all ACI resources, and notifications for new courses. The committee also developed a certificate program, a series of online classes to earn a digital badge that shows proficiency in topics like anchorage design and concrete construction fundamentals. The most recent ACI University offering was announced this week at World of Concrete, Las Vegas, NV. The new all-access subscription is a 12-month subscription that includes all ACI monthly webinars, and 175+ on-demand courses. ACI congratulates Frances, and thanks her and all its volunteers, for helping ACI fulfill a strategic plan objective to provide leadership to ensure our customers are equipped to sustainably address the needs of a changing world.
