Self-healing concrete mechanisms and potential were highlighted during a session titled “Nordic Bridges,” at The Concrete Convention and Exposition, held in Québec City, QC, Canada, March 26,2019. The well-attended session covered different aspects of modern concrete technology applied to the construction and repair of engineering structures, and included the following presentations: Self-healing Concretes and Their Use as Repair Concrete on the Champlain Bridge The Confederation Bridge Evolution of Materials and Construction Techniques for Concrete Bridges in Quebec A special two-part session titled “Advanced Analysis and Testing Methods for Concrete Bridge Evaluation and Design,” highlighted the state of the art and emerging technologies for the strength evaluation and design of concrete bridges using advanced computational analysis and load testing methods.
