The American Concrete Institute attended the Construction Specifications Institute Master Specifiers Retreat on June 19-21 in Chicago, IL, USA, to advocate for and educate on the importance of ACI specifications. Promoting the Institute’s 20+ specifications, Stephen Szoke, ACI Code Advocacy Engineer, highlighted the new ACI 563, Specifications for Repair of Concrete in Buildings; ACI 301, Specifications for Structural Concrete; ACI Field Reference Manual, meetings with building product manufacturer executives. and more. The CSI Master Specifier Retreat assembled senior specifiers and product selection influencers from across the country to focus on education, group networking, and one-on-one. ACI’s Steve Szoke met with dozens of specifiers, including Randy Hartfelder of Gresham Smith, at the annual Master Specifier Retreat. Szoke educated attendees on the Institute’s 20+ specifications including the new ACI 563, Specifications for Repair of Concrete in Buildings. “The Master Specifiers Retreat provided ACI with the opportunity to get the Institute’s specifications directly into the hands of the specifiers and influencers that will be using them,” stated Szoke. “Additionally, we were able to collect valuable insight about future opportunities for developing new concrete specifications to suit the needs of the specifying community.” ACI specifications are conveniently available individually or through the ACI Collection of Concrete Codes, Specifications, and Practices.
