Younger members attending The Concrete Convention and Exposition, gathered at the Rock Bottom Brewery in downtown Cincinnati on Sunday evening for the Young Professional Networking Reception. The reception is sponsored by ACI Committee, S806 Young Professional Activities and is an opportunity for members aged 35 and younger to meet their peers. The committee is also responsible for the annual fall session – What I Wish I Knew – that highlights various professional development topics. This year’s panel of young professional presenters shared experiences and best practices for getting more involved with ACI through committee membership, session moderation, speaking opportunities, and local chapter activities. Moderators: Andres Matos-Ortiz, Jr. Engineer at Flood Testing Labs Megan Huberty, Petrographer at American Engineering Testing Panelists: Shaping Your Career, Shaping the Concrete Industry Destry Kenning, Forming Manager at Nox-Crete Products Group Why ACI? My Journey in ACI! The meeting focused on developing career focused webinars presented by and for young professionals. The winners of the Young Professional Free Convention Registration Contest were also recognized during the Women in ACI Reception on Monday evening. ACI Membership for young professionals age 28 and younger is $124 a year. In addition to the free convention registration contest, younger members are invited to participate in the annual Emerging Leaders Conference held in early November in Falls Church, VA, USA.
