The American Concrete Institute (ACI) Philippines Chapter and Philippine Constructors Association (PCA), an ACI International Partner, are launching the Philippines Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards to recognize outstanding concrete projects in the Philippines that celebrate innovation and technology, and inspire excellence throughout the global concrete design and construction community. The awards program will take place on December 5, 2020 (4PM, Manila time) via Zoom, and will include statements of support from various construction industry leaders in the Philippines. The awards program is supported by the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE). This awards program will accept nominations from the following categories: Low-Rise Structures (up to three stories) Mid-Rise Structures (4-15 stories) High-Rise Structures (more than 15 stories) Infrastructure Repair and Restoration Decorative Concrete Flatwork A special panel of judges will judge submitted projects based on four categories: Engineering, Functionality/Creativity, Aesthetics/Appearance, and their Innovative Use of Concrete The deadline for submission of entries is on February 6, 2021. Winning projects will be awarded during the Awards Gala on March 20, 2021. Winners in each category will be nominated for the 2021 American Concrete Institute (ACI) Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The logo for this awards program was designed by a member of the Siliman University ACI Student Chapter, Ms. Thessalonica Yocor. The logo was selected after ACI Philippines conducted a logo making competition.
