The American Concrete Institute is proud to celebrate National Volunteer Week, April 18-24, 2021. National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to thank the countless volunteers who keep many organizations running, communities safe, and provide services that otherwise would not exist without volunteers. The Institute is thankful for the unwavering commitment of its thousands of chapter leaders and volunteers, consisting of architects, engineers, educators, contractors, and suppliers from around the world. ACI is thankful for its over 3,000 volunteers that serve on its committees, who collaborate on advancing concrete codes, specifications, and practices, during hundreds of meetings each year, plus the countless individuals who advocate for ACI on behalf of their communities and countries. “ACI relies on the hard work and dedication of its volunteers to ensure everyone has the knowledge to use concrete effectively to meet the demands of a changing world,” stated Ronald G. Burg, PE, Executive Vice President, American Concrete Institute. “National Volunteer Week provides a great opportunity for the Institute to thank its thousands of volunteers that have worked and continue to work tirelessly to advance the concrete industry and grow our international concrete community.” Thank you to the over 900 volunteer reviewers and editors of ACI publications, the thousands of volunteers who deliver certification programs through ACI’s 130+ Sponsoring Groups, and to the over 30,000 ACI members from more than 100 countries.
