The America Concrete Institute (ACI) showcased dozens of innovative concrete projects from around the world at the ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards. The 45-minute awards program premiered on Monday, October 18, 2021, during the ACI Virtual Concrete Convention, and is available now for on-demand viewing: Fourteen concrete projects won awards in seven judged categories. These categories include low-rise structures, mid-rise structures, high-rise structures, decorative concrete, flatwork, infrastructure, and repair and restoration. Of the fourteen winning projects, one project achieved ACI’s highest award – the Overall Excellence award. The award was presented to Aldilonda promenade around Bastia fortress, located in Corse-du-Sud, France. “Thank you very much for this award, we are very happy about it”, stated Isabelle Buzzo, the architect of the 2021 Overall Excellence winner. “We are very happy to promote this project and the city of Bastia and Corsica, internationally, with this award.” The American Concrete Institute wants to thank the generous sponsors of the 2021 ACI Excellence in Concrete Construction Awards.
