The newly opened ACI Resource Center – Chicago/Midwest recently hosted over 70 guests during the ACI Illinois Chapter Concrete Mixer. Activities included: free raffle drawings for ACI merchandise; tours of the facility lead by ACI Resource Center staff; a Q&A session on the various education and training programs offered through ACI Resource Centers; and a special visit with remarks from ACI President Charles K. Nmai. The opening of this facility gives the Institute a brick-and-mortar presence in the Midwest region, provides the ACI Illinois Chapter a convenient and flexible resource for its events, and will provide the industry with expanded opportunities to develop the next generation of concrete professionals. Collaboration and leveraging the strength of ACI Chapters is critical in ACI Resource Center efforts to support the needs of the concrete industry. “I’m impressed with the capabilities and the offerings the Resource Center brings to the Midwest region,” stated Andres Matos, Vice President, ACI Illinois Chapter. “From a business side of things, having all of ACI’s certifications readily available to the industry is a welcome and needed initiative.” Others in attendance from the region shared their eagerness to work with ACI Resource Centers to develop up-and-coming concrete professionals. “It was very exciting to see the new facility and have so much of ACI’s leadership present to celebrate with us,” said Walter Flood IV, past ACI Board Member. “I am especially excited for the opportunity to leverage the space to attract and educate young professionals. The facility can play a key role in introducing them to the rich opportunities available in concrete careers.” Learn more about ACI Resource Centers and schedule your next certification or education program at concrete.org/midwestresourcecenter or concrete.org/socalresourcecenter.
