The American Concrete Institute (ACI) recently hosted the third 24 Hours of Concrete Knowledge Conference along with ACI international chapters and partners. The free conference brought together more than 700 attendees from 64 countries to learn about the latest concrete-related research, innovations, and interesting projects from various regions. “I was able to watch several hours of presentations which were of great interest. From those presentations observed one standout for me was that from Dr. Pillai, IIT Madras Chennai on Corrosion & Service Life of Conventional and Prestressed Concrete Structures” stated Steven Nolan, P. E., Senior Structures Design Engineer at the State Structures Design Office. “I particularly admired his graphical representations that were simple but effective, and development of the durability nomograph that was nostalgically effective. Although the durability model and nomograph currently does not include concrete cracking, during the Q & A Dr. Pillai acknowledged that this would be beneficial and will consider incorporating in the future but will require significant effort.” ACI international chapters and partners co-hosted and moderated over the course of 24 hours, and ACI Vice President Michael Paul and ACI International Advisory Committee Chair Samhar Hoz served as global moderators for the conference. View Program Book In a few weeks, all registrants for the 24 Hours of Concrete Knowledge Conference 2023 will receive a Youtube link to view any and all of the presentations given during the conference.
