Abstract:
Stress-strain curves of concrete confined wifh spiral reinforcement were determined. The influence of compressive strength, aggregate type, and the spacing and yield strength of hoop reinforcement was investigated. A model was developed to predict the stress-strain curves of confined concrete based on properties of the hoop reinforcement and constitu tive relationship of plain concrete. The analytical model favorably predicted the results of the discussed experiments as well as other investigations.
