Abstract:
Previous research has demonstrated that small trial batches of structural grade concrete with strength and workability properties similar to those obtained with portland cement-based mixtures can be produced using high calcium fly ash as the sole binder. As a further demonstration of the potential application of this material, ready mixed concrete equipment was used to produce 100% fly ash concrete on a larger scale. The three field trials discussed show that the raw materials can be easily charged into a mixer, mixed thoroughly, discharged, transported, placed, and finished.
