Abstract:
Proposed theoretical solution of the shear strength of reinforced concrete beams involves numerical procedures using successive approximations taking into account the non-linear behaviour of the concrete and its progressive cracking. A finite element model is proposed which offers a reasonably accurate picture of the stresses and srains distribution in reinforced concrete beams at service and ultimate loads.
