Abstract:
Describes the design, construction, expansion, and repair of a hybrid concrete-steel grain-storage tank. The original tank consisted of a 16 ft (5 m) tall concrete ring wall and an eight-ring, 55 ft 8 in. (17 m) tall bolted-steel tank above and held 8820 tons (8000 Mg) of grain. It was later expanded to hold 16,534 tons (15,000 Mg) of grain.
