Abstract:
Several difficulties in the application of probabilistic concepts are discussed. Difficulties occur in choosing a probability model, determining parameters of the model, introducing subjective judgment, and in assigning value to the consequences of possible outcomes in a decision situation. Proposed approaches for overcoming the various difficulties are briefly discussed.
