Abstract:
Various criteria used in determining whether a given lot of concrete complies with compressive strength specifications were analyzed to select suitable compliance criteria for a proposed Saudi Arabian national reinforced concrete code. On the basis of statistical analysis, taking account of the effect of of number of samples, sampling procedures, and probable variations in standard deviation resulting from production conditions, decision criteria including both the characteristic strength estimated from the mean value and lowest single value for strength have been chosen. The proposed criteria are similar in form to those in " Building Code Requirements for Reinforced Concrete (ACI 318-77)" and the Comite Euro-International du Beton/ Federation Internationale de la Precontrainte model code, but had different limits.
