Abstract:
Designed in the tradition of European cemeteries, St. Louis No. 1 cemetery in New Orleans resembles a miniature French city. Most of the crypts and mausoleums in New Orleans are constructed of brick covered with a cement plaster, including one of the most famous crypts—that of the notorious Voodoo Queen, Marie Laveau.
