Abstract:
Infrared thermometers are useful tools for quickly measuring the temperature of objects without physical contact. To determine how accurately these tools can estimate the temperature of fresh concrete obtained per ASTM C 1064, the temperature of the concrete in a wheelbarrow and in the truck chute, along with the temperature of the mixing drum, were measured with an infrared thermometer at four construction projects located around the U.S. The statistical evaluation of the data is presented in this article.
