Abstract:
The Ductilecrete system allows the construction of slab-on-ground floors with reduced curling and increased distances between sawed contraction joints. The system comprises well-graded concrete mixtures, vapor retarding membranes, and a dense surface finish. Two-course construction is used, and the upper half of the slab thickness includes fibers and specialty admixtures. One of the recently completed projects with Ductilecrete, a distribution center in Perris, CA, is a 7 in. (180 mm) thick slab with joint spacing of up to 60 ft (17 m).
