Abstract:
ACI 301-16 requires that concrete floors specified to have a hard-troweled finish are to be constructed using concrete mixtures with a maximum air content of 3%. However, mixtures containing water-reducing admixtures or waterproofing admixtures may have greater air contents, resulting in delamination issues. To benefit owners, specifiers, and contractors, ASCC concrete contractors encourage owners to direct specifiers to require the measurement of air content of concrete that is to receive a hard-troweled finish.
