Abstract:
A team of researchers from the University of Michigan has developed an additive manufacturing system for creating ultra-lightweight, waste-free concrete. This new approach called “Shell Wall” demonstrates a computational design and robotic three-dimensional (3-D) printing technology that effectively combines topology optimization with 3-D concrete printing.
