Abstract:
A simple analytical model is presented to estimate the tensile stress versus time history of a symmetrically reinforced concrete member subjected to uniaxial shrinkage, including the effects of progressive cracking and creep. A parameter study is undertaken to examine the effects of span length, reinforcement ratio, bar size, creep characteristics, and stiffness properties in the vicinity of a crack.
