Abstract:
Statistical descriptions of the variabilities of loads and strengths of reinforced concrete members are required in any study of the safety of reinforced concrete members and structures. This paper summarizes results of studies of the variability in the strengths of reinforced concrete beams and columns. The variabilities of member strengths have been based on interpretation of the results of Monte Carlo simulations. These in turn, are based on statistical distributions obtained from the literature.
