Abstract:
A simple test method to measure all-inclusive sand particle character such as grading, shape, surface area, and surface texture of particle proposed. The character evaluated quantitatively by parameter a has a great influence on unit water content of concrete. The increase of unit water content with the increase in parameter a was observedfor a given slump and water-cement ratio. The concrete mixtures used different sands that can be proportioned by use of the relation between the parameter a and unit water content.
