Abstract:
ACl-ASCE Committee 426, Shear and Diagonal Tension, has developed suggested revisions to Chapter 11 of ACI 318-71. The revisions are presented in a report of the committee. This paper discusses the suggested revisions to be provisions for shear friction, deep beams, and corbels, and illustrates the practical application of those provisions through design examples.
