Abstract:
An approximate method is presented for the calculations of deflections of two-way reinforced concrete floor systems, including two-ways slabs, flat slabs, and flat plates. The analysis is based on the equivalent frame method, and is fully compatible in approach and terminology with reccomendations for moment analyses of two-way systems contained in Chapter 13 of the 1971 ACI Code. A detailed example is given, and the results of these and other calculations compared with available test data for three types of two-way construction.
