Abstract:
The effects of calcium cholride and triethanolamine on the creep of concrete were determined. Specimens were loaded in unaxial compression at 7 and 28 days to a stress/ strength ratio of 0.3 and stored in either a wet or dry enviroment. Calcium cholride significantly increased creep under all the conditions investigated. Triethanolamine significantly increased creep in specimens loaded at 7 days. The effect of an admixture on creep may possibly be determined by its influence in the hydrodynamic properties of the cement gel.
