Abstract:
Service-life prediction models typically do not account for variations in chloride diffusion coefficients with depth from an exposed surface, which may result from imperfect curing. A method suggested by Tang was adopted to estimate diffusion coefficients as a function of depth using a modification to the rapid migration test developed in Sweden. These diffusion values were obtained for three different mortar compositions subjected to six alternate curing regimes. The values obtained were then used to estimate the impact of these curing regimes on time-to-chloride-corrosion for different assumed depths of cover.
