Abstract:
Washington, D.C.’s Department of Public Works determined the original lion statues were too damaged to be placed back on the Taft bridge, and in 1999, Professional Restoration, Inc. was awarded a separate contract to replicate the four statues. The mixture proportioning, reinforcing steel design, mold-making, and casting of these four 30,000 lb. lions is detailed. . .
