Abstract:
Laboratory-based road simulation testing for vehicle durability allows reproduction of road induced fatigue damage to structural componenets of pasenger cars, busses, and trucks. The design of the concrete foundation to accommodate such road simulations and to meet specific vibration criteria is a very challenging and demanding engineering project. The analysis and design problem becomes more complicated due to the limitations of the available space within the existing testing facility.
