Abstract:
The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), a mass transit agency centered around Philadelphia, serves a five county area with bus, trolley, elevated subway, and commuter rail lines. SEPTA's oldest routes are the rail lines formally owned by the Reading Railroad Company and the Pennsylvania Railroad Company that date back to the early 19th Century. The existing transit division was built between 1906 and 1930.
