Abstract:
Annually since 1988, Master Builders Technologies (MBT)—now known as Degussa Admixtures, Inc.—and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) have sponsored the National Concrete Canoe Competition. In these competitions, undergraduate civil engineering students must design and construct a concrete laminate canoe. This article follows the Canadian team from Laval University as they develop the “ideal” mixture proportions for the 2002 national concrete canoe competition in Madison, WI.
