Abstract:
Three project involving steel fiber reinforced pavements subjected to city bus traffic are described. Two were constructed in 1973 and 1976 and were of full depth fibrous concrete ranging from 3 in. (76 mm) to 6 in. (152 mm) with control unreinforced plain concrete slabs up to 8 in. (203 mm). The third, placed in 1977, is of composite construction with fibrous concrete over lean (econocrete) concrete. Production and placement techniques and crack data re reviewed.
