Abstract:
Corrosion incidents in unbonded single-strand tendons have been caused by inadequate detail practices that can be easily and economically improved. Actual case studies of typical corrosion incidents are presented that identify some of the past undesirable design details and construction practices. Details that will prevent the corrosion problems of the past are described. Recommendations for the prevention of corrosion of unbonded tendons related to design, details, and construction practices are outlined.
