Abstract:
Most of the significant tensions within engineering education have existed for centuries, and only become detrimental when one perspective is emphasized to the neglect of the others. In addressing questions on what and how engineers should be taught, the author expresses his opinion on tensions ranging from art versus science to approximate versus exact.
