Abstract:
Today, the power to fundamentally change the way we present information is right at our fingertips. The tool that allows us to do so is called (interactive) multimedia technology. Multimedia uses electronic technology to integrate the computing power of computers with potentials offered by media such as full-motion video, sound, text, graphics, and animation. Programs developed utilizing multimedia technology offer several advantages to traditional methods of education and training. The programs teach the way most people acquire information -- through active learning. Programs on a multimedia platform demand viewer attention, turning passive observers into active participants, totally involved in the learning process.
