Abstract:
From the time of the writer's first extensometer test of a reinforced-concrete building in 1910 this method of studying the structural action of floors and columns under load has found ever-increasing application, being especially important in connection with the flat-slab type of concrete construction in which any satisfactory mathematical treatment is still lacking.
