Abstract:
Tests of Reinforced Concrete Columns: Your Committee has made on behalf of the American Concrete Institute the herein reported tests of reinforced concrete columns of large size; Twenty-four columns were tested, having a variety of reinforcement, both longitudinal and lateral. In the tests, measurements were made to find the deformation in various parts of thecolumn, including the stretch in the spiral reinforcement. This set of tests is a part of a program laid out by the committee for the purpose of determing the influence of both spiral reinforcement and longitudinal reinforcement upon the sructural properties of columns.
