Abstract:
Reinforced concrete beams show increased ductility and reserve deflection capacity when the compression concrete is confined in circular spiral steel binders. In an investigation to study the influence of such confinement, eighteen reinforced concrete beams were tested in flexure and the deflections noted at all stages of loading.
