Abstract:
Techniques and materials for the construction and testing of models of concrete structures are discussed in this paper. Both elastic and ultimate strength models are considered. Elastic models are treat briefly. Time effects in commonly used plastic materials and complications in instrumentation are discussed. Materials to simulate both the steel and the concrete in ultimate strength models are discussed and references to detailed investigations are given. Fabrication, instrumenation and testing methods are described.
