Abstract:
The Bureau of Mines has sponsered contract research to determine physical properties of fast setting shotcrete to obtain basic engineering data important to its use in underground support systems. This report presents early strength properties of shotcrete placed under simulated field conditions using standard wet and dry processes and commercially available cements and accelerators. Bench test results determine fast set agents and cements that were used in the shotcrete program. Bench test results were evaluated for effect on rate of setting and strength of mortar cubes. The shotcrete program evaluated several cements, as stated throughtout the article.
