Abstract:
The Purpose and Process of Work. When constructing an undersea tunnel, in order to secure the safe working conditions, it is essential to prevent flood accidents caused by massive inflows of sea water. All big accidents in the past were caused by the following two conditions: 1. A large quantity of sea water existing around the tunnel when excaating through a fault, and the zone having numerous fissures. 2. Passage of water inflow becomes enlarged causing collapse and cave in of the tunnel face, etc.
